Lyle E. Shoot, 82, loving husband of Lynn Darrah Shoot, of 46 Par Harbor Way, Salem, SC, died Saturday, June 9, 2012.
A native of Illinois, Mr. Shoot was the son of the late Lyle Ford and Marjorie Smith Shoot. He was a graduate of Iowa State University and a Fellow of the American Ceramic Society. He retired from P. R. Mallory, and was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension. He loved singing in the church choir and dining with friends. He was a past member of Nine Hole Golf at Keowee Key.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Shoot is survived by sons, Ray Shoot (Linda) of Ohio, and Lloyd Shoot (Mary Ann) of Indiana; daughters, Leigh Pefley (Gary) of Florida and Leslie Mounts (David) of Indiana; sister, Janice Head of Georgia; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shoot was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Schwartz.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 214 Northampton Road, Seneca, SC 29672.
