Winter Workshop 2018 was held in conjunction with the 42nd International Conference and Exposition on Advanced Ceramics and Composites (ICACC) in Daytona Beach, Florida, USA. Total attendance was 52 students–27 from the U.S. and 25 students from 14 different countries.
Workshop attendees gathered for orientation and a dinner on Friday evening, January 19 prior to a day of presentations by noted scientists in the fields of advanced ceramics, armor ceramics, bioceramics, solid oxide fuel cells, and ceramic coatings on Saturday, January 20. A professional development workshop followed the presentations, followed by a social hour and dinner. A tour of Kennedy Space Center was enjoyed on Sunday, January 21 prior to the opening of the 42nd ICACC on Monday.
