Course description

The online course Using Phase Diagrams in Industry will give you a practical understanding of the value and use of phase diagrams in ceramic technology, whether you have a background in their use or not. The course starts with basics and builds into the practical application of a wide variety of different phase diagrams in all aspects of ceramic technology—from new product development to failure analysis. It also looks at the kinetics (dynamics) of phase transformations and at non-equilibrium situations, which are common in ceramic processing. The field of controlled nucleation and growth of crystalline phases in glass-ceramic materials is also covered in depth. This is a comprehensive but practical phase diagram course designed for ceramic manufacturing and development personnel.
